The Lackawanna River Corridor Association (LRCA) will hold a Jazz Record Hop at the Silkman House, North Main Avenue, Providence, on Saturday evening, November 17th from 7 p.m. until Round About Midnight.

By this time in August, I am getting a few nice size tomatoes each day. This year, I planted 7 different varieties including cherry and cluster tomatoes.
When we starting getting more tomatoes each day than we can use, we begin to make salsa, Spaghetti sauce and a variety of tomato-oriented recipes. I also make and enjoy fried green tomatoes. But there is nothing better than a nice tomato sandwich on fresh bread with mayo. Read more…

Headed for the lake where I do my fishing at about 7:30 am recently. After a brief stop at McDonalds for a nice breakfast sandwich and a coffee, I made my way safely up a very foggy 81 north. Once I got to the lake, I enjoyed my breakfast at the picnic table near the lakes edge, where it was very quiet, still, and misty–A beautiful way to start the day.
I had my first line in the water a little after 8 am, rigged with a 4-inch sinking artificial worm. It was still so foggy when I cast out I could barely see where it landed in the water, but I heard a splash so I figured it hit water somewhere. Read more…

Three-fourths of the Earth’s surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn.
