Fishing is not a sport one pursues for its pure entertainment value. You might play baseball or play a round of golf, but you don’t play fishing. You work a stream or you put your time in on the water. We pay our dues. Fishing is entertainment, but it is also about knowledge of nature and the wilderness. No angler worth his license thinks of fishing as purely fun and games playtime.
