Jazz Record Hop
The Lackawanna River Corridor Association (LRCA) will hold a Jazz Record Hop at the Silkman House, North Main Avenue, Providence, on Saturday evening, November 17th from 7 p.m. until Round About Midnight.
With an outstanding collection of great American Jazz on vinyl 33’s (and a few older 78’s !!!), they will spin the likes of Glenn Miller, Fats Waller, Duke Ellington, Bix Biderbeck, Count Basie, Toots Thielman, and many more…
A wide selection of beverages, wines, snacks and hors d’oeuvres will be available for purchase at the Hop. Parking is available on site at the Silkman House and at adjacent lots around Providence Square.
So come out for a great evening and help support the work of the LRCA to protect and restore the Lackawanna River and to help cover some of the utility costs at the Silkman House!
Silkman House is located at 2006 North Main Avenue, one block north of Providence Square in the heart of North Scranton, and is one of the oldest homes in the city of Scranton and a national registered landmark.
The LRCA and its affiliate, the Lackawanna Valley Conservancy (LVC) share responsibility to conserve the Silkman House, and are pleased to invite our members and friends to the Silkman House through 2007 and 2008 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the LRCA.
Additional Jazz Record Hops will be held at the Silkman House on December 8, 2007 and February 23, 2007. There will also be a 20th Anniversary celebration with cocktails and dinner at the Radisson Lackawanna Station Hotel on February 2nd.
